All Welcome
Morning arrived and it brought grey clouds to fill the skies.

Kasmut watched a flock of birds take off and fly over the mesa in the distance. Her eyes chased them until they faded into the backdrop, swallowed by clouds. Trailing the snake of lake water into the steppes, the pale wolf thought of her brother Tabu and how he would have delighted to see such lush lands. Even in late fall, the leaves on many trees were green and full.

The slender figure moved slowly along the steppes, keeping her eyes trained to the mesa beyond it. It was only a small journey to the north, Kasmut knew this. She could reach her desired terrain within the day and still have time to hunt – loathe the idea. The white coyote wished that she could find someone to do the work for her.

Pale pink eyes searched the steppes as Kasmut sighed.

It was relatively important to the newcomer of Akashingo to know the layout of the land near his home. Where the best hunting was (even though the Fellahin took care of this chore), where the prettiest views were (for future courtships of course), and where to get a damn drink in this mesa. Though, Kai could not really complain of his new home. The Pharaoh had been most kind to him, as well as the wolves he had met so far.

Cooler winds tousled his grey and white coat as the man emerged from the dry barren hills and crossed into something more lush and forgiving to the eyes. A sweep of his pale gaze took in a few notable  mentions of the area. He found water, he found a beautiful view, and he found company.

Approaching from her left flank, making sure to clear his throat lightly as to not completely take her by surprise, Sakai kept a respectable distance. He understood his large frame and being a strange male in general would make many uneasy. "Hello there." He spoke up taking in her soft pale appearance, jeweled with light pink eyes. Beautiful.

The sound of a man’s voice drew her ears back, flattening to her head and then drawing her muzzle toward him. When Kasmut settled her eyes upon his sleek silvered coat, the dark stripe that ran up his muzzle, and the dull grey of his eyes, she smiled. Even the way his voice left his lips was handsome, unlike the coyote men who prowled Khembe.

Mmm, hello, Kasmut hummed. The pale coral of her eyes fluttered against starlight lashes.

You’re quite handsome, she mused softly, chuckling only for herself. He had a strapping figure with an indomitable air about him. Beneath that layer of masculine attraction was a thoughtful nature – it was this that had put the space between their bodies. Kasmut noted it. She even appreciated it.

The pale coyote moved so that she could close the space between them. The light pink of her nose extended to drink in his scent.

He was pleased that his approach was met with a smile. The young man's chest puffed slightly with confidence. He liked when he made a good first impression. The way she greeted him was even better. A very sultry tone and an even more so gaze. The approach she gave the wanderer as she called him handsome made his breath hold still in his breast as his heart began to pound. He had experience with flirting and the like, but every time he felt major performance anxiety. Don't say stupid things, Sakai. Don't say stupid things.

He'd never seen a woman like this, so pale in all of her features. She looked like a flower as she breezed nearer and nearer. "I could say the same back, but I think that would be weird of me." The man couldn't help but cut his awkward silence with a bit of humor, his large frame looking even more so as she reached where he stood. The joke was only borderline stupid, hopefully she could forgive that. Of course she wasn't handsome, she was, "Stunning. You are, that is. What's your name?"

Kasmut liked how he looked at her. She could only hope that Pharaoh would gaze upon her the same way.

The ghostly figure drew her muzzle toward her dark ear, a sweet chuckle offered in exchange for his comment – to call a woman handsome, hmph! – and to appraise the scents that adorned his pelt. There were many wolves in the land he served, she could tell from his musk alone.

I am Kasmut, a diamond of the sands of Khembe, the pale woman answered him sweetly. Her coral eyes fixed on his face with fondness. Who are you, silver wolf?

The closer she drew, taking in his sent, sent invisible shivers down the wolf's spine. Sakai had not been intimate in a while and he hoped it did not show in his eagerness to let her come nearer. If she were a trap for someone who wished him harm, the last thing he would ever see would be the diamond. A true weakness of his was a pretty face.

Pull it together.

"Kasmut." Sakai purred in a moment of uncontrolled carnal delight. He let the sweet name sit on his tongue for a moment. Kai's muzzle turned to take in the scent that lingered in her scruff, her white fur nearly tickling his snout as he fought every urge to sternly wrap his mouth around her scruff and have his way.

"I am Sakai, no special nickname or anything. Oh wait," His voice hushed as he fell into thought, brows furrowed. Duh, he was in a pack now. "I am Sakai, Mazoi of Akashingo." A moment was spared from observing the jewel to look back to the mesa as he spoke of his home. It took no time for his attentions to focus once again on her. A boyish smile was flashed to Kasmut. "You can call me Kai, though."

"Do you have a destination? An attractive treasure such as yourself should be escorted." He liked her, when he liked someone, he was shameless. Rejection only stung temporarily and she seemed to like him, anyway.

Sakai, a Mazoi from Akashingo, and a man who liked to go by nicknames like Kai. The pale woman smiled serenely at him and giggled. Her tail wavered softly from side to side, creating a plush touch of wind at her ankles. There was a pleasant and boyish way about this silver wolf. The colorless shifting of his eyes had seemed sharp and watchful at first, but perhaps she had merely mistaken his interest for something more.

I seek Ramesses the Pharaoh of Akashingo. The Gods are kind to have led me to one of his Mazoi, she said with a bashful nod. The diamond’s pink nose pointed toward the ground. She hadn’t anticipated reaching her destination so swiftly. She also did not feel eager to discover that it was quite chilly. If the Pharaoh had claimed land near that meeting spot, it was likely to have the same sharp nip to the air.

Perhaps you could escort me to where Akashingo is, and I can be left to prepare. I must make a good impression, Kai, she used the name he had suggested with a sweet voice. Kasmut smiled at him and waited for his response.

I figure this might be a good place to end it! If you want to post again feel free otherwise we can archive c:

Then this would not just be an isolated interaction. Sakai could feel the jealously pull his chest muscles tight as she spoke of seeking out his King, but the feeling was slight and easily masked with a soft smile. Kasmut bowed her delicate muzzle to face the ground before him. Before she could fully return to her straightened position, Kai lowered his neck so that as she rose, the girl would catch his eyes immediately. "I can help with that." The man promised, a relaxed murmur before straightening himself to full height but never allowing his eyes to leave hers. They were far to beautiful to tear away from so soon.

"Follow me Kasmut. Stay close." The words were not a suggestion as the mazoi turned to lead the lady to her destination. She would be pleased with what she saw, he knew she would be.
