tactfully, he ignores her smirk, if he saw it at all. he doesn't mean things in the sense of some haughty morality -- delight is, at the end of the day, fairly selfish -- but just that it seems natural. the girl needs help and he's the resources, so why not? maybe he is unnatural but who can say.

normally he would think to inquire after her history (and if he knew she was of blackfeather, he would be quite excited, for he's always curious about the alluded-to war) -- but his mind is elsewhere today, distracted by alarian and seabreeze and olive and the various other disruptions currently ongoing in the sanctuary. none of them he needs to trouble the girl with -- though he should probably get her name at some point, whatever -- though he does manage to tell her, "my name is delight, by the way, and this is the bracken sanctuary," before ushering her in to get her tended to and disappearing into his den.
