Annoyance gripped him as he came to realize he was no longer alone. Somewhere along the line, the friendly, social pup he had been had disappeared. More like ripped apart and its bloody pieces buried deep in the ground. The events of his life had lead him to trust no one but his own blood, and even they had their moments where they'd hinted to him that he ought not even trust them. Complete strangers more often than not proved themselves to either be a threat or simply not worth his time. So when he spotted the female crossing into his hunting path, he assumed she would be the latter at least, the former at worst.

Unfortunately for her, her mere presence was not going to put him off of his hunt. His ears pinned back as he neared her and a low, warning growl rumbled from his chest. It didn't occur to him that she might have no idea that she was intruding on his hunt. He just saw a fellow predator nearing prey he had claimed as his own (in his head), so he approached her as such. He didn't make any move towards violence yet - his only goal was to deter her. But still, his posture said "them's MY ducks, bitch" (again.. in his head).
