Derg followed the girl, holding himself large and tall, alert. His ears cupped and tilted to and fro to catch any and all sounds. He didn't want their first trip out to end in disaster and he was her protector, not taking the responsibility he'd put on himself lightly.

They arrived at a woodland, a place that wasn't bright or happy. A place that wasn't about to claw them out of its arms. A neutral wood that let whoever wander through as they wished as long as they didn't poke too hard at it.
He was happy to stay for a bit, perhaps rest a short while in the shelter and get back before the brewing storm caught them out. He didn't want to drag the poor girl home through wind, snow, and ice.
He watched Keen investigate the woods, doing his own investigation for a short while. That was until she called out with pride, causing him to turn and his eyes widened in shock.
A skull. Canine.
He fought the urge to snarl at her to drop it instantly feeling the air gush from his chest from an invisible blow.

He opened his mouth to talk but nothing comes to mind to speak. He gapes like a fish for a few moments before closing his mouth and sitting down, head tilting in a what the fuck Keen type of way.
All he'd known was to not disturb rested bones, he didn't believe in ghosts but he believed in bad luck and this was it if he ever saw it.
"A skull." He finally murmured. Well, if Keen had disturbed the head then why not the fuck dig up the rest? They might as well take it home and present the whole skeleton to Wintersbane, though he supposed the man would be opposed. So Derg laughed and stood, taking steps towards the nieve girl,  "Let's find the rest then."  He knew they wouldn't take a skeleton home but supposed he wouldn't force Keen to leave the skull behind if she so wanted to keep it.
