If the mahogany male had pleaded for her stay, she would've declined politely. If fate wanted them together, it was not at this time and not at this place. Her time in the Flatlands was done for, she'd found what she'd been searching for and was now returning to where her journey had begun. Ascending, descending - the loop became tiresome and her feet had gotten sore. The sprite was not used to harsh conditions, neither was her companion, but they proceeded regardless of the chilling winds and aching muscles. The faerie finally came 'pon a creek in which she wove a path to safety.
The two had traveled far and wide, and Lumi found a rest was in order. The sprite tucked her petite paws 'neith her frame, warming up on a spot that wasn't as wet as others. Loinnir hopped around gleefully, pecking at the rushing waters as if playing.
You sure don't seem tired - how could you be, with me carrying you around?— From a distance, it looked like she was talking to herself.
