All Welcome
☽ ☁ — Evening, overcast with light rain. Dated to the 14th/July
— @Deidra + AW

wind pushes through the narrow walls of the canyon, rain splattering against the rock, painting it a more vivid, deeper shade. a crow marches along the top of one of the sharp outcrops, lingering a moment before taking off again with a beat of its wings, eager to return once again to shelter.

the girl pauses, moving to press up against the wall of the ravine she finds herself in that seems to offer the best shelter. she'd lost track of her keeper a few days back, and in her effort to find once more the mesa had found herself in this twisting, colourful place.

red stone rises all around, neverending. prey is scarce; places like these aren't meant to support life that hasn't been adapted to it. she'd never felt hunger more keenly, and her throat is dry and hollow. she's sated her thirst from small, brackish pools she's found among the rock, enough to keep dehydration at bay but not enough to put a stop to her deep-set, pounding headache.

Hope this is okay, I can remove Hime if you'd prefer!

Rather than climb back down to the Vale after her run-in with the fey-wolf, Hime hiked the range surrounding it. She found that the view it afforded her was of great significance to her. It felt as if she were a goddess looking down upon her perfect creation - except it wasn't her's, she hadn't created it, and it was far from perfect. But it gave her something to think about. The machinations of her brain kept her company as she toured the range; she plotted, making considerations and trying to imagine every possible outcome to her scattered whims.

A few days of "alone time", a couple of nights spent ruminating beneath the stars while navigating the Sunspire, and most of Hime's contemplations had met an end. She found it harder and harder to focus the more she worked her body. As a woman who had never been given the opportunity for such physicality, the experience was something of a novelty. When the mountainous terrain became copper-toned she lost some of her interest in it. The earth became gritty, almost slippery. The pale tone of her coat took on a rusty blush she found unappealing.

So Hime wasn't in the best of moods when she realized how trapped she'd made herself here in the canyon. It wasn't like the mountains — nor anything like the oasis that the Vale now appeared to be — but something opposing it. More rugged, sparse, and utterly deserted.

Except... That lump over there. It didn't look like much at first glance. But it was moving, slinking along from puddle to puddle, or what Hime presumed to be puddles. There was a strange sound like heavy rain from time to time which coincided with pauses in the lump's progression; the closer she got, the stronger the silt smell in the air became. Considering how her last encounter with some no-name mutt had gone (poorly), Hime wasn't inclined to push her luck here. She could not back off with ease either, though. The path behind her led to more sand and red rock.

She had made another trip outside her home, another adventure on finding herbs that could help her plant more flora in the garden she was building for everyone to access. They needed ones that could make a nice paste, a salve for the witcher parts of summer. They needed something other than poppies for pain, so in her mouth she held a skin of a large rabbit filled with her findings. Not just plants but berries that were safe to eat and a part of a fish that she had caught even though she wished she did not have to take its life.

If her wings were visable they would have twitched and fluttered at the soft pitter patter of rain, she did not mind being we but the caking of red dust on her paws was unpleasant. Why had she come this way again? For some reason she had not seen the ivory woman turned ghostly I  the evening, instead her eyes trained on the little child that was drinking from water not very good for someone her age to drink. She was draw. To the ragged fur and vivid green of her wings, the accents of gold, they seemed slightly cracked like glass that had not falled or shattered. This little pixie was lost, and all she wanted to do was mother her. "are you hungry little pixie?" she spoke gently and with melody, it was the  she noticed the woman in white. Her head tilted in question before bringing her attention back to the skinny Sprite before her.

something comes throw the canyon, drawn along the rock. the girl stiffens, auds pressed forward as she focuses entirely on the approaching shape. tail twitches, the headache building steadily as she begins to ponder her options. she could return the way she'd come, the phantom on her heels; run past her and forward into the canyon (she'd had to have come from somewhere, right?), or, perhaps, she could make a la—

a voice, close and disembodied. the ungainly girl starts, badly, stumbling sideways into one of the brackish puddles, landing awkwardly on her hindquarters. round, luminescent gaze fixes onto the fairy, though occasionally flicking toward the phantom. a long moment, and then a careful nod, stiff and clipped. fear is a good motivator; hunger is a better one.

I'm going to withdraw Hime actually, I don't think I have enough time for this many threads! Sorry! Feel free to reference her cameo however you'd like.

She did not appreciate the peachy blush the sands lent to her coat, nor the searing heat of summer's rising temperatures, made worse in this god awful place. It had been a mistake to come this way; resigned, Hime returned along the course she had initially taken and that was when she overheard a voice murmuring softly around a bend in the rock. She would have been tempted to spy on any other day, but she was uncomfortable and in need of respite. She chose to detour further in to the canyon and by doing so, bypassed the woman and the child.
