She spoke of children being sent his way for tutelage and while that was an aspect he did not think fondly about, the mention meant that it was a requirement; he would do what was necessary.

Sometimes — sometimes the firsthunter is called upon by his leaders for more than hunting. The thoughtful manner of Kukutux' voice slipped there, struggled honestly, and Raimo finally focused his attention upon her. Watching her face, then carefully dropping his dualistic gaze respectfully.

It is his turn to be thoughtful; although Raimo has not said anything yet, he is focused on the possibilities; namely how this offer would dynamically change the story he was gathering, and how best to capitalize upon the shift of Kukutux' view.
