Sssss—! Loko hissed to his brother through the corner of his mouth. His eyes were fixed to the entrance of the den. There was something out there, he thought. Something in the midst of the light rain. Something that had woken him from the deep sleep he had fallen into after chasing hundreds of drops and eating half that much again.

Still with his attention trained on the damp and gray afternoon, Loko reached to @Sobo and let his paw fumble around, poking and patting. Bo. Bo!

Did 'Bo' just snore?

Impatient and fidgetting, Loko smashed his paw against Sobo's nostrils and held it there. That'd show his brother to breathe and snore and sleep when Loko was wanting him to get up so the two of them could check something out!

Sss—BO!

Buuugh, Sobo moaned, clawing out of his dreams with a sluggish flail while his brother tried to murder him. In his dream, he was lean and strong and clever and no bug could frighten him, but then the largest spider imaginable wrapped its eight legs around his head and clamped itself to his face, plugging his nostrils with its itchy hair. He struggled to suck in a breath once, twice, thrice! and found he could not.

In his dream, his eyes widened, lined white with panic, and then the dream crumbled and gave way to real life. Sobo's eyes popped open, bulging with fear to match the keening whine that whistled out between his brother's toes. He wasn't even fully awake when his bladder loosened and he dampened the floor beneath him.

NOOO! he shrieked, lurching away from the wet spot and Loko both and sucking in deep, frantic breaths while trying to remember where he was.

Loko frowned, not grasping what Sobo's problem was. His brows pinched together at the smell of urine and the sight of his brother's face contorted in a panicked fear.

Yes. Loko said, slow-nodding his head up and down. There was to be no arguing. Checking thing out had to happen. Come. Come! Saw something. He grinned, tail wagging as he turned toward the den entrance. If Sobo needed further encouragement, he received it in the form of a quick tug to his ear as Loko swung back to insist on his brother's accompaniment before pushing outside into the rain. His steps were slow, stalking, and he held himself low.

Naturally, there was no comfort to be had from his boisterous brother. Not only had Loko tried to suffocate him, causing him to wet himself, but his brother also insisted on his participation in whatever crackpot schemes he'd dreamed up. Sobo tried to avoid Loko's tug with a halfhearted swing of his head — he was feeling much too pouty and ashamed for this bullshit — but sharp teeth caught his ear anyway, and he wasn't very willful yet.

Reluctantly, the silver Dahomey boy followed his brother out into the rain, knowing the alternative was being pushed around until he went. He loved Loko, honest! But his brother was a bit ... much, sometimes. If nothing else, getting his coat wet might lessen the discomfort of his damp rear, so that made him a little more willing to go along.

What is it? he asked in a grumble, pressing close to Loko and mimicking his stalking tread with a low-slung waddle of his own. He wanted desperately to hold onto his bad mood where curiosity and easy forgiveness tried to creep up, making him pop his head up to look over his brother's shoulder. Loko didn't deserve forgiveness! But Sobo really wasn't the type to hold a grudge. Not against family, anyway. And his brother did make things more fun, sometimes. Sometimes.

He gave one of his front paws a spastic kick as he crowded closer, splashing mud and water onto his brother's back legs.
