Last post for meeee! <3 you all!

For some reason, Fin had failed to expect the reactions Blue and Koda gave her. She peered at the beta female curiously as she spoke, her ears falling back as she gave her a bashful smile. Her eyes landed on Peregrine as he chastised her fondly, for which she gave a light wag of her tail. She was grateful when he told her to rest and nudged her cheek, nipping at his paw lightly as he pulled it away.

He turned to speak to Blue and Koda then, and as much as she wanted to continue to appear awake and well, she couldn't help but slump her head back down onto the ground and begin to doze just as soon as they'd all left the den.

It would be hours later that she awoke again, and it wouldn't be a gentle, slow rousing--Fin's head would pop up into the air suddenly as her eyes shot open. And she would exclaim to whoever was near her the words Wait, did he call me his beta!? But, for now, she slept.

Blue Willow returned the gesture from Peregrine and watched as he departed with Koda. She did return the small smile to Finley, even though she was foolish, it did not limit the love the healer felt for her friend, And she did count the girl a friend even if she was miles away in another home. For now though Blue would do her best to take care of her and keep her well.

"Sure," said Koda with a nod. The gray wolf rose and padded alongside Peregrine, leading the former Alpha away from the den and toward the southern border. He knew Peregrine's new home lay somewhere beyond the sprawling grasslands. Soon, he would set his yellow eyes upon the Caldera when he escorted Finley home to her pack.

The wolves reached the southern border, a steep path led from the plateau to the grassy plains below. "Welp, here ya go," Koda said, turning to the swarthy wolf. "Have a safe trip back. I'll be along with Finley as soon as she's well enough to make the trip."

Koda accompanied him and they padded along in silence, which Peregrine found comfortable. When they arrived at the head of the towpath, he felt a twinge of nostalgia. How many times had he stood here, admiring his kingdom and its views? He didn't want to linger on that thought, so he focused on Koda's words.

"Thank-you, Koda. Take care," he said, brushing his nose against the male's shoulder. With a smile, he then saw himself down the slope and began making his way home.
