Emberwood because we're all in this together

Gabe was thoroughly enjoying the forest he'd found. It was a sunny late spring day, the birds were chirping, and Gabe was in a great mood. He wasn't always in a great mood, but today was a good day for him. Not once had he thought about Kamden, Kalika, or anybody else who had betrayed him. He was free, as was his mind. He'd told Aoife he was going to go exploring for a bit, and so here he was. Alone but feeling wonderful.

He paused over a small creek, that wove its way through the sunlit earth. He lapped at the crystalline water, his tail swaying contently behind him.

Even after the surprise not-so-well-gone-over meeting with Ezekiel, the young woman was quick to bounce back and only let that thought linger in the back of her mind when boredom crept up on her. In order to keep that at bay, she kept herself busy. The tall aspen trees and lullaby of the birds made for an easy distraction.

Coming across a small creek, the fish swimming at a distance would make for a tasty treat. Unable to swim, fish were a rare commodity, yummy, but almost impossible for the snowy damsel to get. Thankfully this time the creek was just shallow enough for her, but deep enough for the fish. Without a second thought, she dove in, paws first, water splashing up all around. Even with the water working against her, she leapt and pounced, face diving into the water with jaws snapping to try and get a hold of the slippery things. 

With her attention on the fish and water - she didn't realize someone wasn't too far away of her shenanigans.

Gabe heard a splashing, loud and frantic. He lifted his fluffy ivory head and turned it slowly, water still dripping from his maw. The splashing didn't stop, and a faint scent of another wolf drifted into his nose. He could keep going, move on and head back to Aoife, but the splashing had the young man curious. He picked up his feet and travelled towards the source of the commotion, which luckily wasn't too far down stream.

His fiery amber eyes fell upon a snowy beauty, pure white like him. She looked about his age, and she was desperately trying to catch a fish. He got closer, wondering if she even noticed he was there. Then, over the loud roaring of her splashing paws in the creek, Gabe shouted, Hey! Hey you! What're you doing?

Every now and then she could feel a tail on her tongue before the slippery beast would swim away, its slimy scales proved difficult to get a hold of - with practice, maybe some day she could be an expert fisher and there would be no need for such awkward antics as today. 

Dip after dip she sunk her head into the water, with frustration slowly rising, even the most patient of individuals would get frustrated after a while of constant close calls, the young woman accidentally sniffed in water. The painful sting of water filling her nostrils caused an immediate jerk of her head to crane out from the water and snort, shaking her head while trying to regain her sense of smell. 

"Hey! Hey you! What're you doing?" The voice called out. With her recent encounter, the thought that she was once again too close to a pack's borders had her recoiling already, childishly fumbling around in the water while trying to keep her footing all the while searching for where the voice came from so she could dart in the opposite direction. Upon finding the individual, instead of running, she stood her ground - he didn't seem threatening, nor did his tone when she thought back to it. 

Fishing! I'm not very good as you can see, but fish are delicious if you can manage to snag one.
