Ferdie Von Pelt came to the oasis bright and early the sun was just high enough in the sky to give the best light not blinding but not overly hot either. Today was the day he called his fledgling Pack together, Today they would fill the caches and be ready for what lay ahead, no more did they have to fight against opposing forces just to stay here.
Ferdie jumped up on the rock over looking the still water of the oasis and Howled calling them to him his high tail waved happily and yet impatiently.
After his howl he jumped rock the rock and sniffed the grasses and rocks finding a particularly pleasing scent his dropped his right shoulder into it and rolled, He knew he'd have to spend hours grooming later but that didn't matter right now. He grinned and got up only to drop his left shoulder onto the smell and and roll on his back shuffling his shoulder into it. The moment another wolf arrived he'd jump up and greet them with a gentle yet firm mouth on the back of their neck. Before howling yet again.
He showed up a chip on his shoulder but it was no fault but his own. He watched as Ferdie rolled in something and he waited. To sore to do much else.
A light, airy trot brought her forth in summons, but it was still not a gait at full capacity -- aches from Danica remained troublesome. She hadn't been far from Ferdie, though, so answered very promptly, arriving just behind Jace. For him, she nosed his shoulder and chuffed lowly in greeting, paired with a wagging tail.
For Ferdie, she approached him smoothly and swept her tail in a low, wide motion that was far more of an expressive greeting than most others would muster from the dark female. Between him and Jace both, she was at the greatest ease. She whined lowly, and moved to brush up against him before licking the underside of his chin. When her leader's voice was raised in chorus once again, Ame would add her voice in support.
Today, they would hunt, and although she was not the greatest of masters at team hunting, nor at full capacity, she hoped tenacity would lend her some sort of success in its place.

When she arrived she first lowered her posture significantly to show Ferdie the proper respect. She then cast a glance at her brother, noticing his sour mood. Figuring that the problem was probably his wounds keeping him out of the hunt, she moved over by him. "Rain check, I want to hunt with you again one of these days," she said, bumping his shoulder with her nose lightly and giving him a small smile before looking back over at Feedie.

Red heard Ferdie’s call and her heart both plummeted and shot to her throat at the same time. Half of her was glad that they were doing a pack hunt finally, and half of her was nervous about being around Fang and Ferdie at the same time. She didn’t know how this odd not-really-love-triangle would work, but she would try her best to diffuse any tension this situation might cause.
When she arrived, she saw that she was one of the last to arrive, but was happy that Fang was there already. She came and sat down beside him, giving him a nudge. She didn’t care if Ferdie saw, and if he didn’t like it, he’d have to deal with it. Apparently her being a mediator had been thrown out the window in all of two seconds. She nodded to everyone else that was there, excited to know what they were hunting.
Her arrival would be swift and silent. Not one to make a scene, she would quietly walk up to Ferdie, while she would obviously down a posture of respect and acceptance. She was not a submissive wolf by nature, however this Alpha seemed to have a solid hold on his sensibilities, and that was really all that was required until she could get to know him and the rest of the pack more thoroughly. She was still weary with all the unknown pack members, not finding trust easy to give. She would sit slightly off to the side, her fluffy multi-pigmented banner sweeping silently around her paws. She was excited for the hunt, yet her pelt would not show it, instead there was slight indifference. Aleera was not one to show emotion in front of others even if she did know them, it was simply not her style. While he keen silver eyes roamed the area she would take in the faces of all who were present, an awaited the arrival of any more.
Unlike some she was not content to sit still, circling around the other wolves while her tail whipped lowly behind her with anticipation. There were pit stops in her pacing, dipping below Ferdie's chin to greet him with rapid licks and rolling beneath Jace momentarily (whatever had happened to him, he seemed too sore to touch). She didn't pause for Fang or Red but gave them a friendly chuff in greeting, a subtle smile playing on her lips.
Summer knew when he heard the call that he would be late to the party, and he completely lacked a good reason to be. It wasn't that he was too far from where they were gathered, nor that he hadn't heard the call the first time it had sounded. It was his nerves that locked his legs in place and didn't allow him to move.
Summer had spent very little time in his life with a pack. He had only once before this actually hunted with more than one other wolf and while that had gone alright, it had in no way made him feel prepared to actually hunt with the entire pack.
The seconds stretched to hours as the young wolf battled with himself over what to do. He knew he needed to answer the summons, but in his mind swam all of the excuses he could use for why he answered too late to actually join them on the hunt. Finally, his anxiety gave in to his sensibility and he broke free of his prison to run until he was amongst his packmates, shyly nosing cheeks and licking chins, all the while reminding himself to take deep, calming breaths.
More Rally action, don't be afraid :D and remember posting order doesn't count and you may post more then once especially if you don't like someone else posturing toward your wolf :) Who shall lead the hunt it will count for Game Keeper Skill
Ferdie frowned at the wolves whom did not join the rally he wanted their hearts light and in the mood to charge as one and run down as much prey at they could.
Ferdie circled and waved his tail over his back Howling again he brushed his side against Kipling's then paced along side Ame for a moment pressing his body close to hers. He offered her a smile before making some fun chesty noises and turning around to face Jace. After running his back under Jace's Chin and making a whiny growl while mouthing Vennia's ruff for a moment. Ferdie then paced over to Aleera and mouthed her ear afterward he forced a big loud yawn and inclined his head asking her to join in the festivity of the rally itself.
As Ferdie made his way back to the center of the group he caught up with Summer gave the youth an affectionate lick and nuzzle on the head he wished @nightingale were here.
Ferdie drew a breath howled again hoping to draw all voices into one. With their Beta and game keeper out of condition for this hunt he needed someone to lead the fray, of course he could, but why when he could take the opportunity to learn how adept his pack mates were.
Who wants to lead the hunt? and where shall we hunt today he looked to the wolves who actually joined in in the rally to answer first giving those wolves first pick over the wolves whom just sat to the side, though he would hear each request in time If none stepped forward he would lead the pack toward the mountain's peek and start this hunt
It had been far too long since she had last rallied amongst pack mates. Not for.. many moons, back amidst the Rikudou and Shikkotsurin wolves, where they had rallied for occasions not only of the hunt, but for triumph over their foes. Her tail waved, somewhat lifted, although never higher than Ferdie's or when he was particularly nearby to her. She deferred to him and Jace only, and this was clear in her posturing and gestures. Ame was not an overly vocal creature, either, but did raise her voice for this occasion now and then with howls, yaps, and then, low rumbling growls.
When the question was posed of what to hunt, she contemplated. There are the goats. Or in the forests, deer..
she offered thoughtfully. She had seen all of them on many occasions but never had the means to hunt actively, especially the deer, which would be easiest to pursue with a pack able to flush them from the covered woods and into a grassy stretch of mountain. Amekaze had no preference, though, and hoped someone who paid closer attention to the larger prey would speak up after her.
She was not so keen to gamekeeping beyond what her predator instincts necessitated. Nor was she particularly eager to lead the charge of the hunt -- which was not to say she wouldn't, but it was not her area of expertise or anything she aspired for. She was built to chase -- adding support to the hunt in that way. Her minty eyes roved the other Sunspire wolves, vaguely hopeful to see one rise to the occasion.

She wasn't sure about leading the hunt; her strengths lay more in support than taking the forefront. Her shy nature also meant that she wasn't one for volunteering. However, she had been doing all she could to push these boundaries and grow. Stepping out from under her parents' wings, so to speak, had been an eye opening experience.
"If none others would like to, I can take point." She looked at Ferdie, then at the rest of the pack, questioning. Gamekeeper had not been a role she had been seeking but if no one else wished to have the experience of leading a hunt then she would take it as a chance to learn. Perhaps she would follow her brother's lead. She pressed her side against his sympathetically, knowing it was hard for him to sit this one out but glad he was taking time to heal all the same.
She thrummed with quiet excitement, already beginning to anticipate the thrill of the chase that was to come. That was what she looked forward to most of all. Although, the satisfaction of a full belly after a successful hunt would be most welcome as well.
Jace reasoned in favor of the deer and she nodded, satisfied with his thinking that it would be good to save the goats for wintertime. She had been leaning slightly in favor of the deer already, as she wished to see the Sunspire's first pack hunt be a success for them. However, she was sad for him that he had to miss out on this hunt, thanks in part to Swiftcurrent..
When Vienna (a female she did not know well, or on a very personal level) volunteered to take the lead, her tail swayed slowly and she bobbed her head to agree; she was interested in seeing how this would pan out, and would lend her trust to Vienna's leadership in this hunt. Amekaze, though, was increasingly eager to get to the good part.

Deer? Sure why not. He had nothing to add to the exchange, even when the offer of leading the hunt was made. This did nothing but remind the hybrid that he was ill-suited for such things. However the anticipation of taking down an animal was starting to cause a stir in the male. His tail beginning to give a gentle thump as he looked between those conversing.
Because the only gamekeeper among them had already suggested that deer was more suitable she was willing to take it as it was and simply accept that, that’s what’d they’d be hunting. But she wouldn’t be misplaced among them, “ And I can help ambush.” She added only a few seconds after, the memory of freezing up when hunting the pronghorn springing to mind and she shuffled it away before the nostalgic anxiety could reach her face. Instead the she-wolf willed herself to be coolly observant, her eyes flicking to each face among the group of wolves as she gauged each one for their input and reaction.

Ferdie Von Pelt Inclined his head to Vienna, Deferring to her. He moved to her side and brushed up against her. Ferdie knew that if Red were here she would have jumped at the chance but she was not and he had wanted a wolf that rallied and got excited first to be the leader anyhow. Vienna offered and was granted. He was ever so glad for this knowing that Jace might be able help her if the need arose.
Ferdie leapt up and lead the pack down towards the trees and toward where the deer had taken residence this summer, they little beasts had no idea what was coming for them.
I will be part of the kill party, my size makes me less of a stalker and more of a brute wall that'll slow them down until someone can grab the throat.
Ferdie looked toward the trees and the meadows where the deer fawn played in the early hours of the morning. Where will you have the pack send the herd the kill party and I will spread out there first before the stalking party starts we don't want to alert them to soon Once Ferdie was given his direction the hunt was in Vienna's paws.
Summer did his best to keep up with the ritualized movements of the other wolves, giving his attention briefly to each in turn as they moved amongst each other. As his packmates began giving voice to the planning, the boy did his best to drift to the outer edge of the pack. He lowered his head slightly as he crept around behind his packmates, hoping to not be noticed. He didn't have any idea what he could contribute to the hunt, and would actually have preferred to to stay behind altogether. He knew that likely was not going to be an option, but he was hoping to at least have his task delegated to him rather than to pick one. At least if that was the case, he could blame his failure on being put in the wrong spot instead of failing at something he volunteered himself to do.
Little Levi came to a stop behind Amekaze, banking on the hope that he might somehow disappear by blending in behind her black coat. He could have hidden behind Jace, but he knew the man well enough to know there was a good chance that he would call the shy boy out. Ferdie was still a wild card, but hopefully he too would overlook his young subordinate in the chaos of the pregame session.
The plans were coming together, bit by bit, as wolves spoke of which task they would prefer. Amekaze listened. She had no distinct pull towards either, for she would work diligently in either role. She had the speed for the chase, but could always lend her teeth towards the bringing-down, even if she wasn't as big as wolves like Ferdie. I will go where needed,
she mentioned. Wherever there were fewer, or wherever more bodies would be needed, that is where she would go. They did not have a massive hunting party gathered so they needed to use who they had wisely, and Amekaze did not wish to see one group have more strength than another -- lest it give the hunt more opportunities to fail. As she said, she would go where it was necessary and adapt to the role.

Summer was hanging back, she thought about calling him into the stalking party, but decided against it. If he chose to join he could, but his current attitude didn't speak of much enthusiasm and she didn't want to upset him. Part of lining something like this was reading individual's strengths, and throwing him in when he wasn't comfortable joining could lead to injury in the chase.
"Fang can join Aleera on the stalking party." The male's lanky proportions and obvious agility would serve him well there. He hadn't spoken up against her leading this hunt so she assumed he would do as she suggested. None had any reason not to, it would seem, and this made her more confident in placing. "Kipling will join Ferdie on the kill team." She looked between herself and Amekaze. She was hoping that, with three on each side (possibly four on the chase if Summer would join) that they could take down two deer. If one of them could simply slow one down, the others could finish their own and then assist with the second kill. It would take skill, but she thought they were up to the challenge.
It would come down to experience in the end and Amekaze had the look of a wolf who had it in loads. "Amekaze can also join the kill party. I will help with the chase. I figure the chasers can come round the side of the herd and start them running towards where you three will be waiting. Amekaze, if you think you will be able to slow one of the deer down, perhaps an easier target, then once Ferdie and Kipling have taken care of one of their own they can assist you with that kill. If the chance doesn't come, though, stick to helping them. We only really need one, and don't want to get so greedy we miss out." She chose Ame for her quiet capability. She didn't doubt the other two, but it seemed they would be more eager for the kill. Amekaze's more tactical mind would come in handy for this particular part of the run. The chasers wouldn't have it easy, though. It would be their job to judge the herd and try and get the chosen targets within range of the hunters. The weaker deer should become apparent once they got the herd on the run.
She looked back to her brother for confirmation. If he thought the plan was good, then awesome. If not, perhaps he could give some pointers that would make it better. After all, she wasn't too proud to admit this was her first time doing this.
Summer listened quietly as Vienna delegated tasks to each of the wolves, feeling rather relieved as she skipped over him entirely. Perhaps his ploy was working. He felt pleased with that for only a moment as it suddenly dawned on him that soon, everyone would be taking off to hunt and he'd be standing there stupidly behind, not sure who to follow or where to go or what he was supposed to be doing. He supposed he could just stay behind with Jace, but what if the others judged him for his lack of participation? What if Ferdie and Jace were disappointed in him?
The young wolf felt anxiety tighten in his chest like a vice upon his heart. He swallowed hard before deciding to make a move. Head low, he stepped around from behind Amekaze to an empty space somewhere beside her where he'd be in full view of Vienna. He struggled to speak then, unsure of what words even to say for he was not one to typically try and bring attention to himself. With his tongue wrapped around in knots in his mouth, he fell back to simply passing a meaningful gaze between Jace and Vienna, hoping that somehow it would communicate to someone that he was in for the hunt and waiting instruction.
