The howl from the stranger, no doubt at Frostfire Ridge's borders, had not gone unnoticed by the serpent king; rather when he had altered his course to intercept the stranger he had caught onto Nochtli's trail and hung back, allowing the diplomat and scout to handle the situation. Out of the newer Amazons that had came to him he trusted her the most — though in all fairness he didn't trust Xiuhcoatl as far as he could throw her (not far) and for nothing short of good reason — and Citali remained hard for him to decipher; thus he trusted Nochtli's judgment, though he deigned to withhold his judgments until they'd either proved themselves or proved that they weren't worth keeping around. Nochtli knew what he expected and from meeting initial expectations the rest was purely on the shoulders of the newcomer where they went from there. Whether they prospered or crumbled under the weight of what it meant to be a wolf of Frostfire Ridge.

Tezcacoatl passed his time by worrying a bone he'd torn from the leg of a fawn he'd buried earlier in the week, strengthening his jaw muscles and savoring the taste of it's marrow as he gnawed away at it, trapping it between the earth and one large paw to hold it steady. He paused mid-crunch upon it, velveteen ears alert atop his skull when Nochtli's howl rose into the air. She did not sound distressed and this soothed the primitive and territorial instincts that had rushed through him mere seconds before he deciphered her message. Despite that it meant abandoning his bone which he'd been enjoying, he hastily buried it to return to and made his way in their direction.

Tezcacoatl's stance became more dominate as their silhouettes rose into the distance, long legs taking him quickly to the ebony amazon's side. He greeted her with a soft bump of his shoulder, stopping when he stood ahead of her, eyes cut of crystalline observing and assessing the female that lingered in the area he'd always considered 'no man's land'. “I presume you are looking to join,” The amazon rekkr addressed Mint. “I am Tezcacoatl, king of Frostfire Ridge.” He introduced himself, though he doubted much of an introduction (that included his rank anyway) was needed. Body posture often spoke for itself.
he came and stole the wild
a crime so old as the sky and bone
