Nanook found that she liked the rough tongue that licked over her body sometimes, but on other times, she absolutely hated and despised it. It depended on her mood, when she was happy, she was peaceful and lamb-like. When she wasn't happy, she became a terrible monster, screaming, yelping, pawing at her siblings, clambering over them. Basically, Nanook was not a happy camper most of the time. But ever since she was able to hear her own screaming, she had visibly quietened, but that also meant she used other even more brutal methods to demonstrate her unhappiness.

That day, the polar bear awoke from a nap. She raised a silver paw to rub her face and yawned widely, eyelids parting for the first time in her life. Nanook blinked, taking in the colors of this new world with wide eyes but she was interrupted when her mother's nose touched her body. Nanook scrambled away as fast as she could and let out a loud annoyed yelp, fixing her stormy blue eyes on her mother and taking in her features.

Quickly, Nanook's attention turned to one of her siblings (Desna) and buried her face into the black fur before withdrawing once more, watching the image of her grow when she got close and become smaller when she moved backwards.
