In spring's steady approach, she found herself growing anxious for its full arrival. She yearned for the humid, balmy evenings with the skies streaked in tendrils of lightning. Just the thought alone, the memory of the electricity of a storm, prickled her skin. She missed it so dearly, and these slowly warming, teasing days played her along to amplify the desire.
So, today, she had descended from the falcon mountain and headed for the river -- perhaps to fish, or scavenge. Ame did not come with true purpose in mind.
When she met its banks, she did not pause until her ankles were wet. Ame paused for a long, deep drink then resumed her momentum. From there, she traveled up its curves, just out of reach of the real current but deep enough in to let the cold waters dampen her belly as it splashed off her steps.
Ame roved until motion caught her eye. On the edge itself, a dark streak of existence. She narrowed her eyes, her muzzle raised curiously to regard the other: a strange-looking beast of deep, pitch fur and a low-slung creeping gait that fleetingly inspired something dark in the pit of Ame's stomach.. With so much about this creature screeching "off" to her, she was torn in several directions for a first impression so far.
She loomed closer and approached with a silent stare, but stayed where her paws could stay wet. What was this being, and how had it come to be this way?
However, her investigations would go no further. She spared the small wolf another lingering glance and decided to be on her way, off to resume her hunt or something otherwise useful. Amekaze would not force an interaction between them. Not right now. She lowered her muzzle towards the river's water and trudged onward, away..
