something had indra on high alert that night; @Laurel had disappeared a few hours earlier, which was not unusual except she had yet to return. indra, torn between going to find her sister and staying behind, paced anxiously just outside of bearclaw valley, retracing the same paths she had walked upon a thousand times almost a year before.

despite the sun settling later, indra couldn't help but feel unsettled out there alone in the meadow. she shivered and watched a column of her breath rise to the wind, wondering and hoping laurel had some good news once she returned.
