indra had never seen laurel reduced to this; her eyes were wide as she pursued her sister, feeling choking fear build up in her. as laurel dove aside indra slowed, her heart thudding dull and loud.

what the hell?

indra peered into the bush, her lips trembling as she beheld her sister -- she was curled into a tiny ball, in a posture of defeat indra had never seen her sister wear. "laurel?" indra whispered, voice hoarse as she lowered herself to the ground and started to crawl towards her. "laurel, what's going on?"

now the wren has gone to roost and the sky is turning gold,
and like the sky, my soul is also turning.
