gosh did she hate these plains. they were so empty and open and ugh. they just made her uncomfortable and she could never shake the feeling that she was being watched whenever she found herself roaming through the long grass without the cover of her trees. but it just so happened that she'd been following the scent of a young enough deer- she was yet to be fully grown and had become separated from the herd with tundra's help but although she wasn't the most skilled tracker to exist she had enough predatory instincts to guide her as she prowled along at a safe distance. she hadn't actually gone out with the intention to hunt but the whole herd had wandered quite close to the woods and she'd caught their scent on a patrol and of course wasn't going to not investigate which now led her here. the only problem was she'd been alone when she'd found them and hadn't been able to call for help lest she scare them so was simply hoping the hooved creature would tire if she followed it for long enough and make it easier for everyone. it pained her to admit it but she was probably just that bit too small to bring it down herself at its full energy without risking injury.

so she had to content herself with drifting along like a mere ghost- paws skimming the earth lightly. however perked ears soon catch on to something else and she halts momentarily- dark eyes shifting to catch the source. sure enough there he is, a man as dark as she is pale making his way across the flats. "well shitshe mutters lowly, lingering restlessly until he's close enough to address without raising her voice. "hey- hey i'm trying to tire out that deer don't startle hershe hisses, tail flicking through the grass. she's about to leave it at that but then..she looks back- sizing him up. maybe she wouldn't have to wait for her future meal to tire out if someone else helped...but she holds off asking straight away, curious to see if he'd offer.
