Elfie's trick had worked, he believed that Bronco had caught his bait and felt a little smug for his clever idea. However, that smile faded, when his cousin/nephew/whoever he was in the complex family tree, came up with something better. One moment Colt's look-alike pretended to be focussing on something, the next he sprang, landed right next to Elfie and splashed a wave of water right in his face. 

When the first surprise wore off, Elfie blinked, shook his coat and with a cheerful war-cry attempted to tackle Bronco. The water-fight was on!
