Redhawk Caldera WSS: Prologue

Yup, she thought when she heard Bronco's bark, here he comes, like he never left you and then failed to care enough to come back. It wasn't that she liked being a sullen little brat—in fact, it was downright exhausting and left her feeling even shittier most of the time—but she also didn't like feeling like she wasn't important to anyone, and struggled with controlling her reactions to that.

Luckily, Bronco had a lot more tact than their mother, and a better sense of what appealed to his little sister, even if they hadn't seen each other since she was very young. He opened up with a compliment, and how could she stay mad at that? As moody as she'd become since her parents rejected her proposal, holding grudges didn't come naturally to her. The lump of resentment softened a little.
