Redsand Canyon Out of Sync

Ruenna was slower to answer than Aquene, but that was almost a given with the difficulty she experienced just trying to move around. Her back was always stiffest in the morning, and worse still on bitterly cold mornings such as these. 

Ruenna offered a tight smile to Aquene before her amber gaze fell upon the girl. She was a diminutive thing, even compared to Ruenna who was practically skin and bones. She could not imagine what had possessed Germanicus to allow such a seemingly delicate, presumably inexperienced youth to stay in the canyon and wear the scent of Mereo. It was quite unlike him.
