It did not take Ashlar long to grab things and dash for the call, though the length between them necessitated a bit of a delay. Augur didn't sound seriously injured but he couldn't help but think of the two women he couldn't save. Had the silent one met with the one who tore their packmate apart?

He didn't relax until he arrived and the air was heavy with the scent of blood, but not his packmate's. They'd obviously been hunting.

Augur was with someone he didn't recognize. Ashlar stopped short with surprise, even without getting a good look at them, at the sight of their coat. It was unlike any wolf he'd ever seen. What happened? He knew the other wolf wouldn't speak, but hoped he could show where help was needed.
