etephyr was polite, and ancelin was almost ashamed of how they had met. almost. still, even before he had seen her work she'd proven herself as an apt listener and observative of what details must be gleaned for a successful hunt.
when she was in place, ancelin returned her mannerliness by making sure she saw him rise and begin a slow stalk before his outright run. 
he headed directly into the center of the herd, mindful of the swinging antlers and startled hooves. the animals sprang away from the hale wolf — they scattered from around the bull.
ancelin snapped his teeth to drive the chosen animal on, and the creature ran.
