Having given Akavir the most audible eye roll she could manage, Cygnet left the man feeling that his behaviour might be corrected, and made her way through the mingling wolves (often walking straight through a few mid-conversation) back toward the Swiftcurrent camp where she had last seen Mae. After all, if Akavir was on the prowl, then she was likely bored out of her mind, or so Cygnet thought.
Mae wasn’t alone- or she wouldn’t be, gauging by the direction of the young woman who approached her. She saw the woman’s ears flick back, and a look of what Cygnet assumed was pity came to her face- one that Mae wouldn’t be able to see.
