I know @Vairë is on NPC, so I am paging @Kukutux & @Aiolos, but I am not picky!

He did not think the man had been speaking of Vairë. He would not blame her for taking another mate in his absence, but he doubted she'd had enough time for the inclination to strike her. He could only imagine her enraged by any man who dared to do more than admire her after the way she'd been treated by both her husbands. It filled him with shame and grief, but it did not deter him from eating up the distance between them.

No, it must have been Callyope. That was the only scent he'd recognized from the forest. He could not remember the name of the suitor she'd been entertaining when he left, but he was sure it hadn't been Solharr. It didn't surprise him that she'd traded up, however; he hadn't been impressed with her options when he left. More still would come to vie for her affection in the coming seasons — he wondered if she might still be deciding, or if the bear-man had been right about her being spoken for.

These thoughts kept him from thinking too hard about what he would find when he reached the borders. Yet, all to soon, he stood before them once more.
