She didn't mind the rain too much. Liked it, almost, along with the heavy misty fog that followed. The wetness was fine, and spiked her fur into little blades of black, but it was the chill that followed she found troublesome. No wonder she preferred the warmth of the late spring and summertime. Without the cold, this might have been near her ideal.
Over the scent of the rain and the moist landscape, she did detect another. Winds weren't well in her favor and she soon found his approach coming from behind. Her motion gradually slowed, and her head turned to regard him -- a tall white-furred wolf. His look spoke of agility so it was no surprise that she had not heard him until he was drawing in close. But at least he did not smell of a pack.
Greetings,
she returned to him, neutral, but confident in her expression and carriage here. Although the Northstar Vale was no claim of hers, she knew the landscape rather well. Considering its close proximity to her mountainside, it was hard to not be vaguely possessive at least a little bit as well. So, she promptly wondered of his business here (like why he tracked her instead of worthwhile prey), and a quiet stare pressed for an explanation of his.
And when it never came, or not within the time-frame he was willing to wait, she rolled her shoulders and continued on away from the foreign presence. It was up to him to pursue or not, she left that ball in his court, as she picked up the trail of small prey, and followed that deeper and deeper into the heart of the Vale. But, she would take care to investigate his trail later to see if he chose to linger in the Vale or not (because there was a chance he was wintering here, or at least very nearby). As if it was her business, but so close to home, it was. With whatever she learned, she would take it all back with her to the mountain later on.
