Her keen eyes did not miss the deflation of his mood. He did not seem to hide it any. The light practically drained from him and she did not necessarily see why right away -- her dry responses were only natural (not that he would know that), but she wouldn't be stepping far out of her way to right him and get him back into a good mood.
