It was the thin, weakened howl that pricked her ears first. That alone was enough to bring her from the mountain's heart and with curious purpose in her strides, she headed for the borderlands not knowing what would await. The voice had been unfamiliar, and had not clued her in to more than just the wolf's general distress. So, it could be any number of issues waiting for her..

The dark alpha comes upon the sight of the wolf crumbled to the mountain's ground. She closes distance with a small measure of hesitance while she sniffs the air for signs of illness on the female. Not identifying any that she knew, and only smelling the loner's evident weakness, she poses alert and sharp before her -- a wild contrast to the wolf in dire straights here at the fringes of her territory. "Do you have a purpose here?" she asks, precise and ever-watchful to see if the stranger could muster the energy to explain.

Ame could make her guesses as to what had happened, but felt many would fall short. Surely winter had not helped her any, even if the season had been mild here. To survive alone was no easy feat and she had to wonder if this loner had any hope left to hold onto, or if coming to her spire had been her life's last effort..
