Shadewood Just a little taste

He had heard the approach of his sister and his ears flicked toward her though his eyes did not move from the blood dripping to the leaf. It was a hypnotizing thing to watch it well up and then drop with a splat onto the leaf and roll down, to plink onto another. It was only when she came up to him that he broke his fixation on the blood and looked at her "Pwetty?" he asked her opinion just as she licked it away and he gasped, eyes widening as she then bit down upon his paw. The pain was instant and he yipped loudly, whimpering quietly as he looked at her stunned and unable to form words. After a moment it dawned on him that she was just suckling, she was hungry and he could provide her with the food just like daddy used to do for mommy. His eyes calmed and he held his paw up to make it easier for her to feed. He didn't want any, he still preferred the milk from his mother's breast.
