@Reiko; it is early morning and Rex tripped over his own feet - spraining his left front ankle.

Mortified. No one saw it. He told himself this in a mantra. Rex, after all, fit the grace of a ghost gliding across the earth. Certainly not the clumsy trot of a newborn fawn. No. The dull throb of his ankle was the only proof that something happened.

Tsk, he clicked his tongue, and kicked at the ground akin to a disgruntled toddler. The miniature dust cloud that popped up in vengeance made him sneeze a second later. Well fuck you, too, earth. This morning sucked, and he was not in the mood for backtalk.

Someone did see, the quick movement had caught her eye as she was gathering more herbs to add to their cache and possibly note where to get more to add to a garden later and tend to for fresh herbs for later use. Reiko would be prepared this winter she was sure of it! 

But she stood like an onlooker during a crazy car crash, watching with wide eyes and standing still to observe it all. Placing down her little bundle, she was slow to call out to him, but eventually, the words came fluttering out. Are you... okay?

“Are you… okay?”

Rex lifted his head, and turned towards the voice. His orange eyes were owlish. It was as if he’d been caught red-handed shoplifting. A baby crime for a baby temperament. No crime to be seen, however, unless Rex desired to charge himself and the offending leg that tripped him.

Owlish eyes flickered into a sensible look. His head ducked with a chuckle of embarrassment. I’m fine! Just fine… He peaked towards her, catching the girth of her stomach and the maternal shine she held. The black wolf flexed his left leg. A sudden dramatics played out in which he leaned forward and quickly snapped his leg back up with a whine; Ow.

The man had a pride, even she could see it as he tried to put on a mask - only for it to crack under the pressure of his own weight as he tried to walk forward. With a soft smile, almost amused as she thought it was sweet for him to try and not look injured (almost childlike really, a brave little boy who didn't want to be cared for). You don't seem fine. Her voice fluttered through soft laughter, tail swaying in a friendly manner as she approached by a couple of steps, waiting for an invitation before coming in closer.
