All Welcome
He had woken on the predawn hours to the feeling of water on his face and belly, and as he had been sleeping near the lake it came as no surprise when the rains caused the water to rise and flood the area he had dropped for the night. It was not pleasant but Tulimaq would not complain; he should have been more mindful.

Instead of shaking the water from his coat he took a moment to assess the terrain around himself, the static sound of constant rainfall catching in his ears, and then decided to tour the lakeside. The moody silver light beckoned him from where he had camped beneath some trees; he sloshed through the flooded lake's edge and began his patrol.

The children were growing, and although Kaertok did not see much improvement in them, they did seem to hold some potential. Soon, they would move to the rendezvous site. If it were his choice alone, the three of them would already be there. It was early, and he had left his usual spot outside the den to patrol. Unsurprisingly, he caught Tulimaq's scent. He had been a welcome addition to their ranks, and he had respected Kaertok's wishes to stay away from the children.

Ramping up his pace, the beta caught up to him and chuffed. Some other wolf might comment on the weather or ask how he was settling in, but Kaertok got right down to business. There were some strangers at our borders about a week ago. You have not spotted them since, have you? he asked. Kaertok had a sneaking suspicion they might come back, and he doubted their intentions were good.
