Erzulie did not seem to feel offended by Merlin's ton of lacks (lack of knowledge, experience, confidence, interest etc., etc.), but - frankly speaking - the boy would have felt a lot better, had there been less patience with him and more telling, what was that he was expected to do. But - given the dead-end circumstances he found himself currently in - he might as well ask.
