Using up that last line in Sabah’s title theme! And setting it up,,,for later

The edge of the Mesa was where cold wind roared and eyes were often turnt away. Either way, it wouldn’t have been sacrilege to her schedule to be out here alone as night fell around her.

A screeching cry filled her ears, and the bird alit upon her shoulders. She did not react, as if he’d been there all along. She turned to look at him, eyeing the bird dubiously.

An answering click.

Sabah kept walking on.

A confirming chirp.

Hidden?

Confirmation.

There was a thousand things she had to do before she left, she mused, ducking into her claimed den, and tucking her body into the mess of moss and flowers and lord knew what else.

She just needed a bit more time.
