New Snow, Mountain Boulder, Thursday's Dawn and Thursday Evening arrived safely. And with Mountain Boulders approval, New Snow grinned and turned to her tired cubs with bright eyes. She would exhaust them further, making sure that each of them would sleep soundly this night.

And then she made to chase her daughter with gently snapping jaws. Her yips of surprise rang clearly, and Thursday Evening too was spurred into movement. With delight (and feeling proud of herself for this grand idea to tucker out the bunch), she looked to her mate with a wolfish grin, anticipating he would join in on her antics until their cubs could fight their yawns no more.

The first true victory of New Snow and Mountain Boulder over their brood! And perhaps a bit of revenge from New Snow, not a spiteful woman but one who had suffered many a sleepless night for their needs. She would trade nothing in the world for the alternative... but that did not mean she would never have her own fun, when she could and it caused no harm.

Their love was clear. New Snow could scarcely keep her eyes from them, or her man. Life was good.
