All Welcome
Only if you have space for a thread! ^^

Samani was pleased to find that the furs she had prepared when they had first claimed the plateau were still tucked away inside her den. She rolled them out and inspected them with a few sniffs. The pine scent had faded, though they carried a smell that soothed her. They would be good gifts for the children, she had thought.

Picking them up in her teeth, the peachy figure carried them to where the young ones would likely be. Her strides were long, if only to shorten the distance she had to tote the pelts. As she drew nearer, she lowered the skins onto the earth and separated them from each other.

A yip to @Brockleigh and @Carlisle sounded from her lips. Samani waited to see if they might humor her.

Never fear! Carl was here!

The yips brought his attention to the outside from his current game of “yell at the shadows until they yell back”. He was, unfortunately, losing.

So he gave up! Easy as that.

The silver coated boy poked his chubby face out of the den, swatting to the side to try and call for Brockleigh to see this new stranger to ogle at.

Brockleigh had been trying to take a snooze, but to little avail as her brother was quite noisy today. When he swatted at her, she blinked her eyes open with an annoyed expression that would’ve accompanied an irritated ”what!!!”, if she knew how to do more than babble yet. Nevertheless she humored him and crawled up to the entrance of the den to gawk at the reddish stranger. Brockleigh looked dumbfounded- it was rare for her to meet anyone beside her kin so far, so this moment was an extraordinary occurrence. And at her feet were… things, laid out. Brockleigh approached courageously to sniff at them if so allowed, inhaling the new scents with curiosity and temporarily ignoring the stranger entirely.

The summons had been enough to draw the attention of the pups. One head appeared curiously, then turned back to search for a sibling. Samani watched with a creeping smile. The second child appeared on courageous feet. There was no hesitation with the young girl. She drew herself up and plodded toward the pelts that had been placed on the ground.

The peachy woman’s tail thumped against the ground.

Those are for you, she said, gesturing with her snout. I thought you and your brother could pick which one you like. Samani eyed the girl in hopes of finding out whether she understood anything that had been said.

Brock! Had the audacity! To leave him!

Him!!

Carl stared after her treacherous rear with a distinctly gobsmacked look. If he had pearls to clutch, he would have clutched them hard enough to imprint his non-existent fingers into them. As it was, he let out a high pitched, agog ah! and went trundling after his sister like the world’s angriest roly poly.

He came babbling angrily at her, not saying much in actuality, but in his head giving her the roasting of a lifetime.

It was then that he looked up, noticed the stranger, and immediately went doe eyed, cooing as he looked over the items brought for them to peruse.

Thump, thump, thump.

What was that? Brock glanced up from the pelts and realized the stranger's tail was wagging. A smile crept slowly onto the little girl's face, and her tail starting wagging too, despite not knowing what the occasion was. When her tail wagged her whole tiny body seemed to shake in its rhythm. The stranger said a bunch of things, which she had little understanding of- but nevertheless she attempted to imitate the babbles- "for, yoo!" She exclaimed, words mumbly.

It was then that her brother trod up, babbling his nonsense at her. Tone transcended words, and his annoyance stirred her own. "mmbleh!" she spat, sticking her tongue out to tease him right back. But his expression changed to one of sweet innocence the moment he looked up at the red-furred lady. How fake! She had to see through his performance, right?! Her narrowed eyes darted between the two, tail wagging having faded off, but then she turned her attention back to the things on the ground- she refused to let her littermate take them all.

The peachy woman could not stop from smiling at the duo. The boy already had a keen sense for taunting his sister, it seemed. Though when he lifted his eyes to look at Samani, he appeared stricken. The woman looked into the boy’s large eyes and laughed. They were beautiful. She was so pleased that they were in Moontide.

The girl mimicked what Samani had said – for you! The sea girl nodded, stepping to where she could nudge them onto the furs she had brought.

This is the pelt of a strong mountain goat. The hairs are long and somewhat bristly, but they feel nice to lay on, she gestured to the white fur with spiking hairs. The mountain goat she had won it from had been a majestic thing. This one is from a handsome deer who had a crown of antlers on his head. He guarded the forest.

She wondered if this would sway their opinions.

Carlisle stuck his own tongue out in response to his sister, before he turned his gaze back to the woman in front of them both.

De-hr! He tried, reaching out to pat the pelt and sharply “oooo”-ing when he found its furs felt magnificent beneath his little paw. The boy parted at it some more, his tail sticking straight up in the air, before he moved to sit on it.

He flashed his sister a smug smile. This was his now, thanks.

It looks like baby Brockleigh is inactive but Summer, you are free to jump back in anytime when you're back in! <3

The stag drew the attention of the young boy. He plopped himself on top of it and echoed the word deer in the most adorable baby voice that Samani had heard. The woman's jade eyes welled with emotion. She wished that she could scoop him into her paws and plant kisses on his head.

The children of Moontide deserved the world, she decided. The sea girl would make sure that they were given everything they could wish for.

You like the stag, hm? That is a good pick. Strong and regal. Brother deer is a gift on our lands.

Samani lowered herself to her belly so that she could talk face-to-face with the boy.

my bad yall adfzczx

Her brother responded with a flash of his own tongue, before the adult began speaking again, though Brockleigh was too small still to understand. But she tried to listen intently as both pelts were gestured to. Unable to decide for a moment, she remained still as her brother moved towards the deer one, smugly placing himself atop it. Her face wrinkled in slight annoyance. Part of her was thinking that she would've chosen it, too- but it was sour grapes now.

She raised her chin smugly in a response right back, moving towards the mountain goat pelt and settling herself on it. Her paws kneaded it, getting a feel for the soft yet bristly texture, and then she laid down in a curled up circle. A glance up to the adult with her wide blue eyes, a slow blink the best form of 'thanks' she could offer.

And you have a strong spirit to pick the mountain goat. He is quick and tricky. Scaling the tallest rocks in leaps and bounds. Not everyone is capable of such a feat, Samani remarked to the young girl.

The children were beautiful. She wished that she could scoop them into her arms and bury them with kisses. Their young gazes were soft and sweet. They wore wide eyes that swallowed everything, learning from what they watched and what they were told. The peachy woman thought it strange that she had once been a bright-eyed pup. It felt so long ago.

Would you like to hear a story about the deer and the mountain goat? she asked her small companions.
