Tytonidae had been traveling south, following a rather elusive doe that seemed to barely outwit her over and over again. She barely comprehended that she had left the confines of The Sunspire, so focused on her task. The yearling continued to track her prey, knowing that unless she managed to prove herself as a gamekeeper soon, she never would. She was sick of everybody outpacing her, and she knew that she had to do something with her life if she ever expected to be anywhere near what her sisters had turned out to be. (Making some vague assumptions that she'll hear about Redtail Rise from Osprey Jr.)

The yearling continued to pursue her intended meal, the trail leading her further and further from the borders of her home. The sudden, intense scent of another pack's boundaries stopped her in her tracks, though. Then, in a very uncharacteristic move, Ty said "fuck it" to herself, and began to nervously continue to trail her meal right past the scent markers. Really, how likely was it that somebody would be right here, right now. She would get in, get her kill, and high tail it out of here.

Ever since his recent encounter with Lusa, Ohen and been doing a lot of thinking. Maybe a bit to much thinking. The ebony male decided it would be best to try and take some things off his mind, and so he started heading towards the boarders. Ohen gave a sigh as he came across an intruder's scent. The dark male just saw it as an opportunity to clear his mind and so he started to track down the trespasser.

It didn't take long for him to find the dark wolf who wandered into Blackfeather territory. From a distance the intruder might actually look like they are apart of this pack, but when Ohen got closer to the stranger it was clear they didn't belong here. "What do you think your doing" Ohen asked with a bored expression and raised his tail in a dominant position.

Shit. Tytonidae froze in her tracks as soon as the first word fell from the mouth of the stranger. Unfortunately, she'd never been a quick thinker, and she certainly wasn't a liar, so she just stared back at the male with a blank, uncertain expression on her face. "I... um... nothing?" Well, that probably wasn't going to cut it. In fact, Ty had exactly zero excuses for trespassing except that she really wanted to prove to somebody that she could get something done. Didn't look like that was going to happen today, unless the "something," was getting eaten by a neighboring pack.

A pang of disappointment rippled through her when she saw the doe scamper off deeper into the pack's territory. There was no way she was going to be able to catch it, now. Another day, another failure. And likely some unpleasant things to go along with it, depending on how this guy reacted to her pathetic reply to his question.

Ohen took a few steps closer to the stranger watching her at all times. The ebony male had to admit that he did like her eyes, they were pretty. Her exuse for trespassing was not good enough for Ohen, as no excuse was acceptable when it came to intruding. "Nothing hmm.." the dark male said and began to slowly circle the female. He was searching for any wounds or scars that might show where she had a weakness.

Ohen stopped circling the female and stood still studying her expressions. The ebony male turned his head to see the doe run off into the woods, and he looked back at the intruder. "You are lucky I found you and not somebody else" Ohen said and was sure any other wolf in Blackfeather would have ripped her apart by now. He looked around for signs of any of his pack mates, before focusing back on the stranger. "Who are you" Ohen said and doubted she would tell him the truth, but it was worth a shot.

Instead of pummeling her on sight (as she thought he would), he spoke. "You are lucky I found you and not somebody else." Then he asked who she was. Tytonidae thought back to a time long ago. A time when she and Osprey had switched names for a day to fool a stranger. But she didn't want to be Osprey, and that rouse was likely to wear off too soon. Ty's mental gears turned as quickly as they possibly could. "My name's Hawkeye," she lied. She knew she couldn't ever bring The Sunspire into this mess. Amekaze would be most displeased if she found out one of her subordinates was trespassing on another pack's property... not to mention Summer, her father, and the list went on.

"What would somebody else do?" she asked, still stuck on that phrase he'd used. Speaking of him, "Hawkeye" took a moment longer to take in his appearance. He was bulky, not lean like Tytonidae. The entirety of his fur was as dark as the midnight sky, except for a splash of white on his muzzle. He didn't hold the same sweet gentleness in his eyes that Summer did, but somehow that seemed more... appealing? Was that the word she wanted to use for that?

Ohen smirked, and gave a huff as the female said her name. He had a feeling she was lying, but there was no way to know for sure. The dark male kept quiet, studying the female for any signs of her trying to escape. However it seemed like she made no intentions to run or fight, but just instead stood there frozen. When the dark female asked what somebody else would do Ohen checked once more for any pack mates in the area. He assumed it wouldn't end well for him if someone found out he was talking to a intruder instead of harming them.

Ohen walked up close to the female and whispered "if someone else had found you, you would not be breathing right now." The ebony male pulled away and watched for her reaction. Ohen assumed that the wolfess in front of him, did not know what pack she stumbled into. He felt slightly bad for the girl, as she didn't seem like a bad person. A question kept popping up in the dark male's mind. Why had this Hawkeye crossed the boarders, because it certainly was not for nothing. Was she a spy?

If it was possible, Tytonidae froze more when he leaned in and she caught a whiff of him. He smelled... musty. Not the bad kind (in fact, quite the opposite), but it was different from what she was used to. His whispered words sent a (decidedly mixed-signal) chill up her spine, and she swallowed hard. Still, Hawkeye wouldn't bat an eye at such things, Ty told herself. "Well, why did you spare me?" She knew that this wasn't a wise thing to ask, but she felt daring today. And why not? Even if she didn't end up catching the doe, at least she'd have a good story to tell. Y'know, five or six years from now when she wouldn't raise hell for trespassing on somebody else's land.

Ty was finding that being somebody else was much easier than being Tytonidae Redleaf-DiSarinno. "Hawkeye" lacked the baggage of a broken home, of failures, and of a directionless youth. Hawkeye was bold and uncaring. Hawkeye faced danger without so much as a stutter. Hawkeye was everything that Tytonidae was not. Maybe Hawkeye could leave The Sunspire. "Does your pack need more members?" she asked before she had a chance to think about the consequences of those words.

Ohen gave a slight smile when she asked why he spared her. It was a question he was expecting, but was not prepared for, and so he spoke what was on his mind. "Something inside me said that there was a purpose for you being here, and I wanted to find out what it was" Ohen explained and said nothing more. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but Ohen found the dark wolfess quite interesting. He thought that this female being here may be a message from the Gods, or her own doing, but he was sure there was a purpose to it. Just like that he believed he found her purpose for being here when she asked if they needed members.

"You see, if I would have killed you, you could not ask that. Everything has a purpose" the dark male said and smiled. He enjoyed being right, or at least believing he was right. "There are spots in our ranks, and I'm sure you would find it fascinating here, but it is your choice to join us or not" Ohen said assuming the dark wolfess was interested in joining. If she truly was interested in joining Blackfeather than Ohen was extremely glad he hadn't killed her. She seemed innocent and vulnerable, but that wasn't nescessarly a bad thing, then Ohen could teach her how to be like a true Blackfeather wolf. However Ohen wasn't entirely a true Blackfeather wolf himself.

The word "purpose" struck her, and Ty immediately latched onto it. "Purpose" was something she had been lacking her entire life, and after hearing everything about Osprey and Saena, she sought it with vigor. Malleable and young, literally anybody could have said that word, and she would have followed them to the ends of the earth. Instantly, nothing about Summer, The Sunspire, or her sisters mattered. Here, Hawk had found purpose. The yearling continued to listen as he spoke, her mind buzzing with excitement.

"I want to find my purpose," Hawk replied (and also decided that she would take that as her new name, at least for now). "You can, um, call me Hawk, if you want. I want to stay here. I was actually tracking down a doe. I can prove that I'm a hunter if you let me finish the job." Perhaps that would be enough to show her worth to this wolf. Perhaps that would be her initiation.

Ohen smiled when she said that she wanted to stay here and find her purpose. It was when she said about tracking a doe and wanting to prove that she is a hunter, that Ohen thought for a moment. "I would love for you to prove your hunt skills Hawk, but you should probably be accepted into the pack first. We wouldn't want anyone mistaking you for an intruder." Ohen gave her a wink and turned to face the boarder he was patrolling. The dark male figured it was best she be accepted on free land and not the pack territory.

"How about we make our way to the boarders where we can call for a leader" Ohen said while turning to face the charcoal girl. While looking at her, Ohen found himself admiring her emerald color eyes. They held emotion, unlike his ordinary and dull silver eyes. The ebony male tried to figure out what was she was feeling, as he believed the eyes were the window to someone's soul.

Little note: it's "pack borders," without the A. ;)

For whatever reason, it had never crossed Hawk's mind that this was not a leader. Sure, he was a little on the young side, but apparently anybody of any age could lead a pack. Ty's sisters had done it, hadn't they? Nevertheless, this guy was decidedly not a leader, as he'd just mentioned, and Hawk nodded. "Okay," she replied, beginning the short trek back to beyond the sacred pee line.

"How many leaders do you have here?" she asked, once she felt they were an acceptable distance away from claimed land. There were other questions, too. How would she find purpose here? Had he found purpose here? What was his name? When should she go tell Summer that she wasn't coming back? That last question was for her alone, as she couldn't possibly reveal her identity to him. Even giving away the fact that she knew somebody close by seemed like a terrible idea.

Whoops! I spelt it wrong once on my iPad which is what I usually use for writing, and now autocorrect takes over. Thanks for letting me know!

Ohen gave a sigh when he couldn't figure out her mood. Bassilth could always tell what he was feeling when she looked at his eyes, but clearly Ohen was not as skilled as his pale sister. When the dark female asked the question about leaders, Ohen was about to say only one, but remembered that Burke had recently become Beta. "There are two leader. There is Meldresi who is the Alpha, and Burke who is the Beta."

Ohen lifted his head and howled for @Burke as he knew Meldresi would most likely be spending time with Potema. Once he finished calling for the Beta, he turned to face Hawk. "Both are very nice, but would probably not take to kindly to a trespasser, so how about we just say I met you on free lands." Ohen then focused on the border and waited for Burke's arrival. The ebony male wondered if the dark female would be nervous during this meeting, as Burke was a tank and a bit intimidating. "If for some reason you can't find the right words to say, just look to me and I'll help you out" and with that Ohen said nothing more, and continued waiting for his call to be asnwered.

Not sure if Tytonidae genuinely wants to join or just says so to get out of the fact that she is a trespasser? xD I only scanned through the posts xD

Burke looked up when a howl sounded. Ohen. Burke slowly got to his feet before he trotted of in his direction. The large tank of a male still had to take it easy. Yet compared to Potema he could do a lot more now. The Beta trotted through the woods not bothered that his paws made his presence know to his surroundings. If he wanted to be quiet he could, but now he was called and Ohen was awaiting for his arrival. The charcoal masked male scanned with his pale eyes over the two black wolves, one of which he didn't know.

"You called?," he asked, his head raising. His stump of a tail was raised too, as always. Burke was a dominant and proud male. He stopped next to Ohen, towering over him. Burke was as large as a wolf could get, along with his docked tail he got even more of a squared appearance. His eyes kept on the stranger. Not sure what was the deal, the two wolves seemed too casual. Did Ohen know this girl. Burke awaited their explanation first before making any assumptions.

@Ohen @Burke Can we wrap this up so Hawk isn't in limbo any longer?

Tytonidae Hawk listened eagerly as the yet-unnamed male spoke of his leaders and what they would be like. He still hadn't given her his name, but she figured that he was simply waiting until she had secured her place among them. In almost no time at all, they were approached by a rather large, tailless wolf. Hawk gulped audibly. She really didn't want to piss this guy off. Her ears were slicked against her skull, and her whole body shrank as soon as his eyes fell upon her.

"H—hi, sir. I’m Hawkeye, but you can call me Hawk. I want to find my purpose here." She fought the urge to run away, to run back to The Sunspire and forget this whole stupid thing. Here, she would be reborn. Here, she would find meaning. Here, she would become one of them.

Ohen watched as the female shrank as Burke approached....not good. Then she studered. Ohen used his tail and snuck it behind Hawk and tapped on her flank. He looked at her through the corner of his eye and then stood proudly hoping she would get the hit and copy his posture. One thing she did do correctly was she spoke up for herself and didn't make Ohen explain who she was.

Ohen wouldn't intrude in their conversation unless she looked to him for help, or Burke required him to speak. Only then would he say something. He sat with the charcoal female and patiently waited to see how this would go. He wasn't sure if he was suppose to leave, but he wasn't asked to so he took the opportunity and made himself comfortable.

Burke watched the stammering female, instantly thinking she wasn't vicious enough to join Black Feather. But then he looked at Ohen and realized that he wasn't that vicious either. His pale eyes stayed on the girl after that to see if she was really keen on joining their pack. He was not sure if Ohen heard her howl with a request to join and he had missed it or that something else was going on. He seemed to stand close to her and encourage her. Did Ohen know this girl?

"Why do you think you can find your purpose here in Black Feather? Do you know Ohen?," he asked curiously. He was always keen on knowing his pack member's relations so he would know what to expect. This female could help in structuring the pack more. But he would let her speak before making assumptions.

Thanks for moving this along, peeps! @Ohen @Burke continue? Oops, I see Ohen is away. Burke, do you want to go ahead and wrap this up?

"Ohen?" she asked, puzzled. The younger one had yet to give his name, and it took a few seconds for it to click. The tap on her hocks she took to mean that he was Ohen. "Oh! We, um, we just met. Ohen told me I could find purpose here." At least, that was how Hawk had interpreted what he had said. Hopefully, she wouldn't get him into too much trouble by saying as much.

If Hawk had known that she was supposed to look fierce and disobey her superiors by standing tall against them, she probably would have backed out already. That kind of thinking went against all that she had been taught. Then again, a lot of what was going on right now went against the way she had been taught. Hawk was straight-up lying about a lot of stuff right now to get what she wanted: some sort of meaning to her life.

@Hawk I'm back

Burke looked at the light framed female and then tipped his head. "Why would you think that? I mean You must have a sense of direction you like? What is it you feel like doing in a pack? Hunting? Defending? Or isn't that what you mean with finding your purpose?," Burke asked. He was the counselor of their pack. Maybe she wasn't talking about the ambitions or purposes that he was thinking of. Female brains were weird after all.

"If you want you can try if you find your purpose here. But we don't give free food and shelter. You will need to work for it and contribute to the pack," the Beta then informed on a more clear tone, a very clear yet calm tone. Burke didn't often raise his voice, when he did then one would be in serious trouble.

Last post for me; hope you don't mind!

Hawk nodded once, his statement understood. She did not know exactly how to answer any of the questions he had asked, so she kept herself silent on that front, glancing briefly to Ohen for some sort of confirmation that she was on the right track. If the beta refused her now, Hawk would fade into the landscape. And if he accepted her, she would remain until she found her purpose.

Little did any of them know, her time here would be short. Her visit to Redhawk Caldera would turn her right back to The Sunspire, and Summer would turn her away from that as well.

Nope! I will archive :)

Burke found it weird that he didn't get any answer from the female. He glanced at Ohen and then growled, stepping forward towards the female. Burke disliked wolves that had the audacity of not even replying after he offered a place in his home. The large male was quick to chase her out and deny her question to join Black Feather Woods. They wanted determined wolves not weaklings that didn't know what they wanted.

He saw her fade away in the distance, knowing that she might not come back. Not that Burke minded that. The male then turned to Ohen, giving him a bit of a disapproving glance that he was called for nothing but Burke didn't give any crude comments. The male had at least tried to bring new wolves into BFW.
