She began to wander further, no longer staying close to the Seaside reminded her that she had a home on an island. If her mothers' were looking for her she did not mind if they took longer, if the brothers' were looking, well they would need to try harder to get her attention. A small rock was clutched in the beak of the young raven that had taken kindly to her, she had chosen to call him Karasu which ment raven in japanese and he seemed to like the calling. He even made a sound when she said his name. He had taken to placing the feathers that fell from his body into her fur, his way of claiming her as she had claimed him.
Her pale eyes looked down into one of the many pools of crystal clear water, the young raven set the rock down beside her as he flitted off to explore the new location they were in. The dark girl simply stared at herself, not out of vanity but to see the subtle changes that were happening to her facial features. She could see how the rounding of her cheeks were starting to sharpen, how her ears were too big for her face, how her eyes seemed larger. The blue in her right eye was more noticeable now, taking up half her eye color rather than a small dot it was before. They reminded her not only of her mother's eyes but the man she met with the same colored fur.. though hers was darker.
Just then, Karasu made a sound, his caw a warning. Only then did she look up from her pool of water to see what was approaching her to make Karasu so nervous.

with the begrudging admittance that he was too old to be playing a young man's game — of striking out to make his own pack for he was older than arturo was now when he made teaghlaigh ...or if not older than close to the same age. he'd been the tyrannical conqueror, he'd been the nightfell king, he'd been a leader and half a father, if not a phantom entirely, to the kids he's sired during his wandering of the season. it was time, he thinks, to set his ambitions elsewhere.
distraction clouds his direction and he lets his mind wander as he paces thru the quarry; the sound of a raven breaking his revere. wintersbane starts and glacial gaze scours the quarry spread before him to land upon the bird in question and then a bit further to a figure that strikes him as familiar. hesitantly, the tundrian ghosts nearer before realizing that he does recognize her. the girl that could be his daughter — and the creeping suspicion that perhaps she was though in all fairness he had no way of knowing for sure. he could easily be the man eager to claim all children that looked like him as his when they could be the spawn of some other man.

miwa,he chuffs in greeting, eyeing the bird wearily before deciding that where he presently stood, while too far away to hold a conversation comfortably, was plenty close enough.

Two toned eyes searched, curious to the warning in her feathered friend's caw. It took a moment but she noticed the man that was so much like herself from the tinge of blue to his fur, the freckle-like markings along his shoulders, and then the eyes that echoed her blue that had expanded in her right eye but wasn't Takara and Minori her mothers? Was it normal to not have a father in a female pairing? Did it work differently, or..
Shaking her head she looked at the man that then greeted her by name, her smile an answer before she spoke his. "wintersbane," another word came to mind other words she could say but she remained silent. The raven moved, fluttering to her shoulder as the dark girl moved closer. Why had he stopped so far away? Was his size the reason her companion was so nervous? So many questions without answers.

she draws nearer, and wintersbane complies himself, ghosting towards her a few steps so the distance between them would not give cause to yell ( though surely she could hear him just fine regardless ). again, for the umpteenth time, he is struck with the familiarity of her features that remind him so very much of his own, of lotte's. though it is an assumption he is more than willing to bet is correct, he supposes it doesn't matter in truth. would miwa want him as her father figure, if given the choice? or was she far too old to care? and while their paths crossed from time to time they never seemed to intersect with any sort of permanence.
it's been a while, wintersbane comments idly, glacial gaze flicking from miwa to her feathered friend.
i see you've made a new friend.he remarks with a small gesture of his muzzle.
