All Welcome
All welcome for siblings, mom, or anybody who’d like to drop by!

Life was a confusing blur for the fawn. She had settled into predator-skin, fully understanding the soft fluff she was wrapped in, and trying to work out how the rest of it worked.

Today, she was working on movement. Stretching out her toes, wobbling to her feet, walking a scant few inches before she would tumble back over and repeat the process. It was odd, and a little weird to the part of her soul that still read as old doe, that she could not walk as the fawns themselves did. But she would not be deterred. Again and again, she would rise, tumble a few steps, and meet the dirt with a shocked noise.

Vairë would figure this out. Then she’d show her siblings, let them learn too, so they could go together. As they should be, they were herd after all.

the doe observed the boldest and bravest of her children, a grin curling her lips to watch the determined girl fall and rise, fall and rise again. after a minute or two, she untangled herself from vairë's siblings and padded over to where the girl was practicing. the greenpaw stretched herself out in front of her eldest daughter, a wispy chuckle escaping as she lowered herself to the floor.

"come along, little story-weaver. I know you have it in you," she cooed in gentle encouragement, fallow tail beating a proud tempo against the floor of the nest -- muffled by the cured pelts that padded the packed dirt.

She had been resting for a time, too many tries wearing down the patience of the fawn child in her youngest, before she would grow and gain a deeper understanding of patience.

Then came her matriarch, mother doe, laying across from her, within seeing range of her blurry little eyes. Her voice, too, stimulated slowly rising little ears. Oh yes, for mother doe, she would try and try again.

Slowly, Vairë assembled herself, moving one leg up underneath her, followed by another, then a stumble when one leg turned awkwardly, then she was steady on her feet, somewhat at least, taking a few steps forward, catching herself when she started to wobble.

She just had to make it a little farther...success! Vairë happily ran into her mother’s nose, and slid down onto her stomach, limbs spread every which way, giving a squeaky sort of noise in triumph.

"that's it...just a bit further," she encouraged softly as vairë rose again -- invigorated by the sight of her mother so close -- and slowly stumbled her way towards her dam. she glanced back to see if perhaps sialuk or kukutux happened to be nearby to witness her daughter's first steps. when she had turned back, vairë was right before her and slid down the length of her nose to slump against the floor in triumph.

lótë let out a burst of hushed laughter, so as not to wake the sleeping members of their family and not to startle the fawn. bending, she peppered kisses over the pup's ink speckled features. "good job, love!" she crooned proudly as she lowered herself so they were nose to nose and vairë could play with her if she wasn't too tired. "such a strong girl."

just a quick cameo <3

Wilwarin stirred faintly upon realizing mother dove's warmth was not flush with her own. The soft cooing of her voice and the sound of her sister's triumph caused her to blink open diluted eyes of beer bottle glass, half folded ears twitching with a small exuberant tic as if she deeply desired to go and join them.

Alas, the runt was too exhausted to do more than shake her tiny tail before sleep pulled her back to its embrace and she curled against Lómion's ribcage once more.
