All Welcome
for @Gourmand spree if wanted, otherwise AW :)

just beyond the safe plateau laid a place that seemed ripe for potential. what kind she had not yet figured out. the cliffs were not all solid and she dared not tempt any edge for too long.

yet seabirds gathered here to build the wind beneath their wings or roost in spots too dangerous — or what they thought — for hunters. they were safe from her, for now. she had not come to immediately hunt them or steal eggs as she had with the first warrior.

instead she came only to adventure, to brave the coast and soften the fear of the waters.

time is a fake construct. sorry this took so long, first posts are really hard for me.

gourmand took his time as he combed over the coast. now intimately familiar with the bivalves and crustaceans available to him, he could let the thought of them marinade in the stew of his mind.

birds came and went. they would make a fine meal, though he did not enjoy hunting them — truthfully, he didn't enjoy hunting anything.

he had preferred to let the hunters hunt while the chefs dreamed up how to bet serve whatever they brought back. now that he was no longer within palace walls, he needed to be more pragmatic.

where there were birds there would be eggs. he let out a thoughtful hmm between the wild garlic and basil in his mouth and went to survey what that looked like before the other wolf's presence caught his attention.

bonjour, he called softly, careful not to startle her or the birds, if that's what she was after.

she did not startle, but she was surprised.

a giant man that might have put many to shame. yet he smelled of fine things from the earth and that only further surprised her.

what was that word you said?

she remained warm and curious with a tentative sway of her tail. mindful of the precious distance between them, between the cliff. she imagined if his goal had been evil then it would have been best done without speaking.

her next question wanted to be what did you find but she refrained. even if open curiosity danced across her features.

she is open-faced at his approach, which brings him no small relief. he had been treated kindly in his travels thus far, but there was always some lingering thought — usually only once he had opened his mouth — that not all would take so kindly to his presence.

he drops the greens at his feet. they came from the earth. they would be fine there a little longer. bonjour, he repeats, then again in the common tongue. hello, and good day. the smile in his voice reaches his eyes. are you out here for those? he gestures towards the birds, or is there some thing else?

bonjour.

at once she tried to imagine the place he had come from. was it a land of hot sands? perhaps one of ice and stone. it must have been a kind place no matter where it was located.

i am seeing the coast on a visit. warmth and whimsy in her voice. maybe she should be hunting the birds, but she did not think she was equipped for cliff hunting yet. let her try her luck upon the plateau longer before she dared a drop so high.

did you find those here? she gestured to his gathered greens and found herself hopeful that he might elaborate or share his discovery!

feel free to reopen and tag me in a reply <3
