Moonspear Running with the boys

Together they passed over the threshold. Wildfire's mouth went from dry as a bone to pooling with saliva as she suddenly found herself fighting nausea. She wasn't having vivid flashbacks or anything, yet she could remember all too well the feelings of that night of the storm. It wasn't some contrived or irrational fear, either. She could have died down there. She had become lost so immediately; it wasn't difficult to do in absolute darkness.

"Yes," she squeaked in reply to Floki's question, though even as she said it, she suddenly swung around to face outward. A loud and shaky breath gusted from her. The fur along her spine prickled as if she sensed some sort of evil behind her in the darkness but being able to see the light of day just outside was incredibly calming. She drew in a few shallower breaths and felt her heartbeat slowing.

"This... isn't that bad," she said, gesturing for him to come stand or sit beside her again. "I just... I got lost for days once. I couldn't see or hear properly. It was terrifying, Floki. It was like being dead or something." She shuddered slightly, then eased forward so that she was lying on the ground with her anterior half outside the cave and her hind legs still within. Wildfire might not have gone far today, yet she had faced her fears like Charon wanted.
