For now, he tacked on to Opalia's remark, his smirk fading into a genuine smile.

Then his eyes shifted to Aure again. Be careful, Verx said, his tone not quite scolding--but not jocular, either. Don't wanna see you getting into trouble over an apothecary. You can maybe get someone to help you?

He didn't mean to be condescending, truly. It just sort of came out that way.
