it was the only fleeting thought that managed to pass through her mind between the woman's and her lunge. she snarls, a hateful sound made weak by her exhaustion and the dull cramping of her stomach. fangs tear across her chest, and the girl can only surge forward, despite every nerve in her body urging her to stop. she snaps at the woman's face, a move meant not to deal damage but to drive her back. her limb erupts in pain, throbbing in tandem with the scars across her chest. 

"stop," she breathes, struggling to stand her ground, eyes wide. even after orochi had trespassed, the nightwalkers had not sought to attack him again and again as he healed, their captive. the hate of the residents of this island is vast, and she knows she must get off it. she'd thought the initial attack might be isolated; a result of the boys due anger with them, with her. she'd been wrong.
