See, this was nice. He grinned broadly at her laugh, and leaned into her touch a little. If it could just keep going on this way, Mal would be quite happy with the day in general, and he was already pondering some sort of reply. But then she went and asked a question he wasn't at all sure about. An ear tilted back, and his expression did mute a little, I.. I don't know? We both built packs and that's where our families are... Just... I don't know. But I don't know a lot of stuff. There was no easy solution, I mean.. If I asked you to stay that wouldn't be fair. Even if it might be nice to daydream about. Maybe Aibreann would be happy with it too -- she'd been weird since Hua had shown up. It wasn't like he was going to just leave her and the kids (or Miriam, or Cupid...) so he didn't really get it.

At least things aren't impossible. Is there something better I can do? Because he did want to make her happy somehow. He wanted to make everyone happy. He looked over at her, hesitant but wanting to find a solution so things could be, well, happy.
