Redhawk Caldera WSS: Prologue

She bobbed her head unhappily. Alyx certainly felt like she was being treated unfairly. Maybe she was, and maybe she wasn't. Maybe she was taking things more personally than they were intended, and maybe she was simply too young and full of herself to see the differences in Meerkat's situation and her own. All she (thought she) knew was that Niamh didn't like her and she would never be allowed to do anything she wanted for as long as she was here with her mother.

Which made Bronco's question easy to answer. I'd already have left, she admitted. I have no friends here and obviously she doesn't like me, so what's the point of living here? It sucks. Quetzal and Rosie didn't count as friends, because they were her siblings. She knew she could go to the Frosthawks for a little while and make friends there, but they were still all relatives. She wanted to make her own friends on her own terms, friends that loved her for her, not because of her mom and dad.

I'm getting outta here as soon as I can. Fennec already told me I can just decide to go and they can't do anything about it. I'm just waiting for a good moment to tell them. And I don't want things to be weird if I visit later, but I think mom will make sure I feel like crap about it no matter what I do.
