back-handing a cat wasn't on her list of resolutions this year, but that's what happened when the little creature made its show of teeth; its hiss brought a rise to redbird's spine and as soon as she saw those little fangs, she struck out.
nothing was going to get between her and colt; not life, not death, and not this creature.
would've been a better call to grapple it by the neck and throw it aside, but redbird had little control in that moment as one of her limbs swept forward to punch the cat out of the way.
