Two Eyes Cenote Where history and future meet

Safiya's sister Tiye was often jealous. So I thought she would easily be able to recognize that emotion. But I can change it. If you'd rather she didn't.

Another came upon her and Safiya felt the guard hairs along her spine stiffen. And she shifted to turn green eyed gaze to him. Her singular eye taking him in. He was a wolf the fellahin would have gone crazy for. Long and rangy with dark fur. There were not many dark wolves or coyotes among them that she could recall. And perhaps she was wrong, but she felt he would have been a delicacy for some of the bolder ones.

Before she could answer the man, whose name was that of a snake. And not even a good snake. One of venom and silence. One that followed along and killed quietly. What this man must be to have such a name. An opposite of him in every way came strutting along. 

Her pert nose lifted against the grain. As if she had a foul smell beneath it, when she looked on what had once been Safiya's home. A dark grotesque anger twisted Safuya's insides and squeezed. Made darker and deeper by the look the woman shot her way. She recognized that look. Desperation and Jealousy. Her sister had often worn such a gaze. But where she had loved her sister and could forgive it in her. In this wolf she could not. 


She stared at the woman with reproach. Her father's tongue jumping unbidden to her words. limadha taleab dawr min alsaeb alhusul ealayhi, 'iidha kan min alsaeb bialfiel alhusul ealayka?

A small smile, snake toothed and cruel. Desperation comes off you in waves little white wolf. Word to the wise, jealousy is not a good look.

She dipped her head to the male as he had introduced himself. Hoping her words knock the she wolf down a peg. I am safiya.
