She gestured absently at the glimpses of white protruding from their prey's slack mouth. "Motherly instincts can be undeniably strong sometimes," she added with a lopsided smile.
He seemed to want her to divvy up the rations, so she eagerly set to butchering the fresh kill. She shamelessly pushed the larger portion toward Bobby, then settled back and enjoyed her morsel, munching happily in the winter sunshine.
