The thrill of the hunt, the adrenaline rush, the focus on the prey freed Sarah's soul from her inner darkness. She did not have to think as she chased, her mind and body knew, what to do. The jackrabbit made loop here, swerved there, zig-zagged and she guessed it's moves every time, until she caught up with the white-pelted lagomorph, pinned it down and killed it.

Soon there was only a head and some strands of fur left, and with her belly full, Sarah sunk back on her haunches and sighed. Her heart still was racing and she did not wish it to cease doing so, because with the calmness would the dark shadows creep back in and swallow her again. Then she got her unconscious plea for more adrenaline rush answered, because she spotted an awful lot bear-like figure moving in the distance. And, while her rational mind did not want to accept that this could be true, if it was - she was in trouble.

Hungry and sleep-deprived bears in the middle of winter meant trouble.
