All Welcome
the waves beat against the rock, a steady, grounding rythym. somewhere below, the sound is like a heartbeat, familiar and unyielding. to be back here was not expected; she had followed that sweet-familiar scent outside of the teekon wilds, and had thus expected to remain outside its borders. but the scent had faded, and the small group she had fallen in with had dissipated shortly thereafter.

it had been two months since she had left The Nightwalkers. whether it had been the right decision was not her concern, it was simply one she had made and dealt since become exhausted with the lot of them. she had won her place at the top fairly, and mercenaries remained absent of loyalty or respect. and though she had dealt with assorted challenges to her place there accordingly, it had become apparent that the group had nothing useful left to offer her. as a child, The Nightwalkers had offered protection, knowledge, and mentors. later, it had been a place where she could allow her awakening ambition to drive her to the top. and yet she had come to outgrown them, in a sense; now, she could understand the reasoning for Black Hat's earlier leave.

and yet she did not fall into the life of a loner as easily as her mother once had; she bore it for now, but she did not see it as a sustainable option. the heavens thunder; rain began to fall. the clouds that clung to the horizon and delayed the lightening of morn' would not dissipate soon. her gaze leaves the boiling sea, and soon it becomes a fized point in the distance as she begins her trek toward the mountains.
