All Welcome
it is hot. she is glad they stay close to the water, and live near an island then of inland. the summers were always brutal, and she always stayed in the water. except, now ruo had to watch her son, who did not enjoy it as much as she did. somewhat dunking him into the water was a bold move, but ruined the experience for him it seemed.

goddamn it.

now she'll have to do it again.

the siren thought of ways to lure her son in the water, while idly swimming by the beach.

huojin glared toward his mother, watching her wade in the shallows. why did she have to go in the water? and what was wrong with him, that he couldn’t do the same?

ma, he called, water is c-c.. called? that wasn’t right. is cold? huojin wondered what it felt like, when one was not afraid; was it actually comfortable?

"it's out out there yes?" she nodded,

"water is refreshing."

"nice and cold."

she couldn't help have her lips curl while her son glared.

"i wont throw you in this time," maybe.

no. huojin refused to walk into the water, especially while she was there. it was pretty hot, though, and he couldn’t know how refreshing it really was until he tried it for himself.

well, ok. he walked a few feet down from where ruó was, then approached the incoming wave. water curled over his toes, chilling him to the bone, and giving him no other option but to pull back.

had she lied to him again? 太冷了! huojin shouted in her direction. another wave came in, this one slightly less abrasive than the last. maybe he could get used to it.

she sniffed. her son acted a bit like her, and at times ruo didn't know if that was a blessing, or a curse.

"it cold at first, you get used to it."

"join me, yeah?" she beckoned with a paw for her son to come in deeper. the siren didn't get closer to the shore, as she didn't want to scare him into thinking she would dunk him again.

even though it was tempting.

yeah, no.. not today, anyway.

huojin shook his head and turned back toward pride rock.

"nice try."

with the speed of an otter, ruo lunged out of the water, and toward her son.

she was going to drag him into the water by force again.

huojin yelped with discontent, feeling his mother’s teeth grab onto his scruff. he was big, but not big enough to fight his way from her grip, and so was forced to watch as he was dragged against his will into the ocean.

frustrated yips and growls would seep from his mouth, demanding that he be released.

ruo didn't release her son, but she did bring him to the water. instead of letting the waves bring him down, she quietly held him above the water, making sure enough it wouldn't touch his face, but he was definitely submerged.

"it nice, right?" she said, in english while mumbling through his scruff.

huojin stared blankly toward the horizon. this was pretty, and it was calm, but he did not like it.

his heartbeat was visible as it pounded against his chest. he quivered against his mother’s hold, still unable to free himself — and at this point, unwilling to try.

so instead of making a fuss, huojin did all that he could do: scream, as loud as he could, for as long as he could.

ruo had to blink as her son literally just started to screech.

but she wasn't letting it up, and honestly-

ruo just dunked him, but immediately pulled him up.

she still refused to let him go though

"you done, huojin?"

huojin: *surprised pikachu*

there had to be more to life than this. was this really it? getting dunked in the water; was that the peak of existence?

huojin couldn’t believe that the screaming hadn’t worked. in fact, it did the exact opposite of what he’d expected. ruò didn’t take him back to shore, but instead dunked him in again, just like she had before!

his mother was insane. there was something seriously wrong with her. huojin stopped his complaining, instead hanging idly from her jaws while planning his first murder-runaway.

her son was a limp rabbit now, and she rose a brow to it.

did he really think she would bring him back to the shore?

"you ok?" she mumbled.

but of course, despite all the chaos that she does cause, ruo still cares for her son. maybe she did too much.

he couldn’t offer anything more than a disappointed sigh. one limp leg lifted itself high enough to be out of the water, but only for a moment; it was too much effort to fight her.

she asked if he was okay, and huo just sighed again. no, he told her. what did she expect?

well, she tried.

ruo honestly didn't expect much to come from her son; she didn't care if he was a warrior, a hunter, a scout or a medic. maybe judge if he went to the more spiritualist side, but she didn't mind what became of him. as long, as he was happy.

however, the one thing she desired most of all; was the love of water. the love of swimming, the stars are a simple plus, but her desire of swimming was far more. there of course was disappointment visibly shown on the mother's face, and reluctantly so, brought him back to the shore.
