It was Bridget's voice that clued Sorana in. Oh! A big smile broke across her face. It was Brightness!

Her smile faltered a little and her ears slanted. She craned her head back to communicate a silent question to daddy. Bridget had always been a welcome presence and auntie before, but Sorana remembered how Reyes had reacted. She couldn't put two and two together to see it was Caracal and not Bridget who had sparked that reaction. In fact, she hardly remembered the second wolf had been there at all, but her feelings about Bridget were more complicated and deeply rooted.

Her little brows crumpled. Of course she wanted to see Brightness! Her memories with Brightness were happy ones. Daddy didn't seem to like Brightness much, though, which made Sora think she shouldn't, either, despite the happy memories. Daddy's opinion mattered the most. She fidgeted in place and waited for Reyes to make the decision for her.
